Oshiroi

$14.99

The Japanese used oshiroi to make themselves look pale. The Japanese really valued pale skin; they even had a saying called “white skin covers the 7 flaws”. This means that even though some women don’t have attractive features, they’ll look beautiful as long as they have pale skin. They valued pale skin because it showed that you don’t work all day in the sun. To make themselves look pale, the Japanese used oshiroi, which consisted of kaolinite, calcium carbonate, zinc oxide and other chemicals. People used to use lead and mercury, but after the Japanese found out about their toxicity, they banned the usage of lead and mercury. Our product will not contain lead or mercury, but it will make your skin paler.

Ohaguro

$19.99

The Japanese valued black teeth because it showed their sexual maturity. To make their teeth black, they drank a dye that consisted of iron fillings that have been soaked in tea. When the iron oxidizes, the dye would then turn black. Spices such as cinnamon were added to improve the taste of the liquid. In order to make sure that the teeth permanently stayed black, they drank the dye multiple times for days in a row. This process is called Ohaguro. Ohaguro also strengthens the teeth and protects them from cavities. Before the 17th century AD, Ohaguro was only practiced by aristocrats (the highest class), but during the Edo Period (17th-19th century AD), this process was performed by more people, such as married women, prostitutes, and geishas (female performers and entertainers). If you've always wanted to have black teeth, this is the product for you.
